  4. 1. Access web application

1. Access web application

This tutorial will show you how to access the web application page through three different situations.

Access web application with Router and PC

This situation will shows you how to access the web application if your connection environment is Camera + Router + PC (Desktop computer or Laptop) in a Local Area Network. Please NOTE this method requires the camera and PC device to be in a same local network. See follows:

Step 1 – Download and install the Camera Live software to your PC device

You can download the Camera Live software from Camera Live Download Page. Then refer Install Camera live to install.

Step 2 – Open the Camera live software and discover the camera

  1. Double click on the Camera live icon on your desktop to open.
  2. Go to “Setup” panel, and click the “Search” button to discover online camera in Local Area Network.
  3. Highlight the camera title when the camera was found.

Side Note: If you searched no result, the means that there is no connection establishment between your camera and your PC and router. You should check that:

  • Check the connection from camera to router, is that LAN cable tight? And don’t use the iTV port of router as LAN port.
  • Make sure both the camera and PC device are connected to a same network.
  • Check your firewall of the router and PC device, does it block the camera.

Step 3 – Access the web application by using following two methods

  • Method (1). Record the IP address of camera, and copy and enter this IP address to any browser. We recommend Chrome, Firefox, IE6, IE7, IE8, IE9, IE10 browser.
  • Method (2). Directly click on “Browser” button to call the default browser of your PC.

Step 4 – You will be requested to enter the account username and password

  • Enter button. Get into the live view page to watch the live feed. See the live view page.
  • Setting button. Get into the setting page to configure all features.

If your camera and your PC device are not connected to a same network, you may be able to access the web application remotely. See Access the web application remotely.

If there is no a router, you can directly access the web application with your PC device(Must has a RJ45 LAN port). See Access the web application page directly without router.

If you have a need to access the web application with cell phone, see Access the web application with cell phone.

Access web application with PC directly without router

How to access the web application if your connection environment is Camera + PC (Desktop computer or Laptop).

*This method doesn’t require any router. Please use a LAN cable to connect your camera to your computer directly. Before you run the “Camera live”, please set up your computer’s IP network segment the same as your camera’s IP network segment (the first 3 numbers 192.168.168). Such as below camera’s IP address 192.168.168.100. Please change the IP address on your computer like this 192.168.168.110.
*This method requires a RJ45 LAN Port of computer, so for the Ultrabook laptop or Macbook doesn’t build in RJ45 port should use a USB -to-RJ45 adapter.

Step 1 – Alter your computer IP address to a static IP address

For Windows platform

1 – Open the Control Panel.

If your computer is used Windows 7 or lower. You could find the “Control Panel” on the right side of start menu.

If your computer is used Windows 8 or higher, you could search “Control panel” in the start menu. Or pressing “Ctrl + R” to open a running dialog box and type “control” to enter. You would get the Control panel window.

2 – In the Control Panel interface, choose “View network status and tasks“.

3 – Choose “Change adapter settings“.

4 – Select “Local Connection“. Pay attention to the status of Local Connection. Make sure the connection between computer and camera has a good contact, it would show “Unknown network” under the Local Connection.

Right click on “Local Connection” and select “Properties” then double click “Internet Protocols Version 4(TCP/IPv4)“. Change the “Obtain an IP address automatically” to “Use the following IP address”. The IP address should be 192.168.168.xxx (xxx could be 2~254 except for 100). Click “OK” to save all changes.

For Apply OS platform

Here’s how to set a static IP address in OS X:

1 – From the Apple menu, select System Preferences.

2 – Select Network. The window shown below appears.

3 – From the sidebar, select an active network interface. In this example, you should select the Ethernet network. Click Advanced.

4 – Select TCP/IP. The window shown below appears. From the Configure IPv4 menu, select Manually. Enter a static IP address in the IPv4 Address field. Assign an IP address from 192.168.168. xxx (xxx could be 2~254 except for 100).

5 – Click OK.

6 – Click Apply.

Step 2 – Access web application page via 192.168.168.100

Open a browser (We recommend IE or Chrome) then type and enter “192.168.168.100” to access the web application.

*NOTE: If you met an error “This website could not be reached” when you are trying to access “192.168.168.100”.

That means the connection is unsuccessfully or the firewall of your computer blocks the direct connection device. You can try following methods to fix it.

  • Recheck the connection between camera and PC.
  • Try the reset the camera.
  • Disable the firewall or lower the firewall protection level.

Access web application locally or remotely with router and a phone or tablet

How to access the web application if your connection environment is:

  • Camera + Router + Mobile Device(Smartphone or Tablet).
  • Camera + Internet WiFi + Mobile Device(Smartphone or Tablet).

*Through this method, you can access the web application with your mobile devices locally or remotely. From remotely accessing, it requires your router or the router which broadcasts Internet WiFi to support UPnP function.
*The method of remotely accessing the web application is NOT suited to Titathink 3G cameras (TT520G or TT521G or TT522G or TT830G) when it works via 3G network. When it works with router, the web application page could be accessed remotely.
*The method of locally accessing the web application is suited to Titathink 3G cameras (TT520G or TT521G or TT522G or TT830G) only when the camera is connected to router.

Step 1 – Make sure your camera has been connected to Internet or Intranet

Make sure your camera(s) has been connected to Internet or Intranet.

If the camera has been setup so it could connect to Internet.  e.g:

  • Your camera connects to an Internet router, and your smartphone or tablet could access the camera via Anyscene or Babelens app locally or remotely. (*For remotely accessing, the router must have UPnP function)
  • Your camera has been setup to mount an Internet WiFi. Your smartphone or tablet could access the camera via Anyscene or Babelens app locally or remotely. (*For remotely accessing, the router which broadcasts Internet WiFi must have UPnP function)

In these cases, when both your mobile device and camera are using same network, you can only access the camera’s web application page locally. When the network your mobile device uses is different from camera’s. You can only access the camera’s web application page remotely.

If the camera has been setup so it could connect to Intranet. e.g:

  • Your camera connects to an Intranet router, this router could not visit Internet. Your smartphone or tablet could access the camera in a same network.
  • You camera has been setup to mount an Intranet WiFi, the WiFi doesn’t connect to Internet. Your smartphone or tablet could access the camera in a same WiFi.

In these cases, you can only access the web application page locally. When you are outside and use another network, you will be unable to access the camera and its web application page.

If you haven’t set up the camera yet, see Tutorials –>”Quick Start” chapter to set up the camera first.

Step 2 – Go to Anyscene “About Device”

  1. Open the Anyscene app on your mobile device.
  2. Open your Anyscene APP, and go to “My Camera” interface.
  3. Tap the contraction icon  to popup the edit menu.
  4. Tap the Edit icon  to access “Advanced Setting” interface.
  5. Tap “Advanced Setting” option.
  6. Tap “About Device” option to access about device interface.

Step 3 – Obtain the IP address and access it

In “About Device”, you would have two IP addresses:

  • Local – This local address is available while your smartphone/tablet and camera are both in a same local area network.
  • Remote – This remote address is available while your smartphone/tablet and camera are NOT located in a same network. But both your camera and smartphone/tablet can surf Internet. *Please NOTE that if you cannot find Remote IP address on your phone or there is “Failed” text in Remote field, it means your router doesn’t support UPnP protocol, in this case, trying to login the web application page by using remote IP address will be unavailable. Please ensure your router supports UPnP function. Or access the router to enable it. Or clear the UPnP cache then try again.

You can tap available IP address to access the web application. If the tapping action is invalid, please copy-and-paste it to a phone browser or a tablet browser. Even you could enter the IP address to a computer browser so you could remotely access web application with your computer.
